From the earliest days of shipbuilding, craftspeople understood the value of coating surfaces for protection. Early boatbuilders covered the undersides of their vessels with tars and resins to waterproof them and protect them from deterioration. Stopping leaks and halting corrosion remain two significant purposes of industrial coatings, but they are far from the only ones. These products deliver greater levels of functionality than the typical paints found in the local hardware store.

For example, some paints offer a certain amount of fireproofing. Specific colors and types of paint can be used to lower cooling costs by reflecting heat from a building’s exterior. Keep reading to gain a better understanding of the many benefits these coatings can deliver in industrial environments.

In an industrial context, it results in better performance, longer lifespan and an overall more profitable enterprise. Because so much rides on their abilities, industrial painting industrial painters need to be a breed apart from the rest of the industry.

Methods & Equipment

Proper surface preparation is critical to the success and longevity of our projects. Surfaces are first carefully analyzed and then processed using the most appropriate methods including: pressure washing, hot/cold power washingsand blasting (sandblasting), steam cleaning, abrasion, dry ice blasting, chemical treatments, and shot-blasting for concrete floors. Our jobs sites are left clean, tidy and organized. Surrounding surfaces are protected and masked off as needed to prevent damage.

Induspray specializes in high-volume spray painting of high-performance coatings. Spray painting is often indispensable because it offers the ultimate in coverage quality, speed and efficiency, especially on rough surfaces and in difficult-to-access situations. Conventional brush & roller techniques are utilized whenever they are preferable or more efficient.

Our professional industrial painters are capable of working in most industrial situations, including difficult access interiors and high-rise exteriors. Our crews use a range of aerial-lift platforms in order to access almost any area in your facility, and to complete jobs properly and safely.

Paint & Materials

We utilize a wide array of high quality industrial-grade paints and materials. The selection is matched to the application and intended lifespan for maximum cost effectiveness. Our primary objective is to provide you with the best value possible, by providing a range of coating system choice and the data you need to make an informed decision. The latest-generation coatings we use include:

  • epoxies, multi-part epoxies
  • oil-based and latex paints
  • low-emissions, low-VOC coatings
  • direct-to-rust coatings
  • high-adhesion coatings for dirty environments
  • specialty coatings
  • urethanes, polyurethanes
  • industrial enamels
  • dryfall paints
  • non-slip coatings

Project Management

Our experienced and well organized project managers strive to to ensure that our jobs are completed as scheduled, to the highest standards, and within budget. We pride ourselves on minimizing disruptions to your business and its occupants, and are adept in working in occupied and operating facilities, and during fixed time window periods such as scheduled shutdowns.

Inspection and Quality Control

  • Macventure will maintain the following daily records of inspections, which shall be kept on site and passed to
    the clients representative on completion:
  • Visual inspection of the surface preparation.
  • Before application of a coating, all surfaces shall be inspected in good light to ensure that no
    rust or contamination is visible.
  • Before starting and during the last hour of work with an Elcometer 319 logged
measurements are performed. Measured and logged are:
    – Relative humidity
    – Air temperature
    – Surface temperature
    – Dewpoint temperature
    – TΔ (the difference between surface temperature and dewpoint)
    – Dry Bulb temperature
    – Wet Bulb temperature
    – External temperature correction (K-type)
    – Specific humidity
  • Times of starting and finishing of each paint application, which paint is used and how many
    liters.
  • WFT is measured of each coat. Pictures will be added to the report, listing areas and types of
    paint.
  • After each coat is dry; with the Elcometer 456 logged thickness measurements are
performed, before applying any further coat.
  • Per tank all data will be stored in the Elcomaster software and added to the general report.
All the Quality Control Data is a part of the general report.
  • End of project, before final acceptance. Platforms and scaffolding are not removed until the
    project has received final acceptance.
All defects noticed during stages of inspection, are corrected immediately.

Frequency of inspection following table:

TEST STANDARD FREQUENCY ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
DFT SSPC PA-2 One per 10 m2 Between min – max DFT
required
WFT ISO 2802 One per 10 m2 Consistent with providing
required DFT

Guarantee

The Painting Warranty is limited to workmanship. It covers painting defects, but they do not cover
areas of fading and/or damage due to normal wear and tear, abuse, weather, or accidental damaging
occurrences.
If a defect in workmanship appears within 5 years from the date of project completion and is
reported, Macventure will inspect the affected areas and perform the necessary repairs if the
quality of the surface is equal to or exceed the standards in the following table:

Time after application Finish Overall Any given area
3000 mm x 300 mm
1 years Re 0 Re 0
2 years Re 0 Re 1
3 years Re 1 Re 2
4 years Re 1 Re 2
5 years Re 2 Re 3

The time in years shall be reckoned on the anniversaries of completion of the full contracted scope of
work. The Re standards shown are those of the European Scale of Degrees of Rusting for
Anticorrosive Paints, published by the European Committee of Paint, Printing Ink and Artists’ Colors
Manufacturers’ Federations.
In the case of field maintenance; any failure caused by subsequent degradation or delamination of
any old coating not removed by abrasive blast cleaning, is excluded.

Monitoring system

All values and remarks will be noted, per object, in dedicated software in a tablet.
Macventure supplies its clients with a technical dashboard per project, individual tank and installation,
including set up of different alerts (e.g., on KPI’S), (e.g., is yearly inspection done?)
Macventure manages any project for you into (one) Integrated system.
Together we set the parameters of controlling / monitoring software which will be implemented and
carried out by the project manager.
These parameters can be;

  • Open fields
  • Set values to choose from
  • Closed questions
  • Fields for specific, predefined pictures

We can also collect data which is not related to the current project.
If we, for example, rebrand the ACP tanks we can perform a visual tank/installation inspection and
collect all correlated data.
In the case of a painting project the checklists “Surface Preparation”, “Paint Application”, “Finished”,
“Staff” and “Remarks” have to be filled in.

Safety

  • All safety, climbing and electrical equipment are yearly checked and maintained in a good
    working condition
  • The electrical tools, the aerial platform and the ladder, etc. are in accordance with the
statutory provisions. The inspection reports of the periodic inspections of these devices
provided for by law are available for inspection by the Macventure team leader on request.
  • Every staff member will register at the location before the start of the works. Depending on
the guidelines of the location concerned.
  • It is prohibited to bring chemicals into factories without approval from the customer’s
internal prevention and protection service. For this, the MSDS file are submitted.
  • Warning signs are prominently displayed at all access points to areas where abrasive blasting
    and painting is in progress.
  • The Macventure employee will be informed by the customer of the rules regarding the use of
(mobile) telephones. The mobile phone may only be used during work to be able to notify
